15's game this week (11th May)
Western Spirit under 15's, Sunday 11th, May 2008
Just today our 15s had another win over Redlands cruising to a 4-2. But things wern't as easy as they sounded.
After only a couple minutes we took the lead with a good tackle by Ben on half way line, and then sending the long ball through the middle straight into the legs of Bogart before tapping it around the keeper and slotting it home.
It only took us another ten minutes to find the back of the net again with a howler from Lamonde, dippin over the keepers head from about 30 yards out.
After that we had some control of the match, but only half way through the second half, the Redlands side found a way through our defence, but not in a spiritful way, knocking one of our players down to then be one on one with our goalkeeper. Doing what a goalkeeper should do chris approached the player only for the ball to be chipped over his head. Then the score was 2-1.
With only a few minutes of the half to go Redlands had a corner kick, only to be cleared into a Redlands player, the Redlands player shot and was thumballed by the goalkeeper straight into the path of a Redlands player, he shot and all of a sudden it was 2 all.
With the last kick of the ball for the half, it was a goal from Kieran, putting us up 3-2 up at the break.
In the second half it was more of a tence battle with the heat and our physical abillity getting to us. But with only about 15 minutes remaining,Nick sealed the win with a shot flying past the keeper.
Good work to the team, Leo being our coaches pick for Man Of The Match.
