Under 12C Vs Oxley Untd (Grand Final)

Oxley Untd 1 Western Spirit 2- A fantastic end to a fantastic season,a brilliant game was on show today,2 teams that really wanted to win,again it was our boys who done all the attacking but the Oxley defence and some good goalkeeping kept us out,then against the run of play Oxley took the lead,an audacious shot from outside the box caught our keeper off gaurd and just went over his fingertips into the net,fair play to our lads their heads never went down and again we started to attack Oxley,just before half time we got our reward,a good bit of play got us into the box and Jacob Campbell got a shot on goal,the keeper seemed to get a touch and saved it on the line but Jazz Mejias was there to finish it off,half time we had a talk with the boys and got them settled down,the second half again was all Western Spirit,we just kept attacking them and we finally broke them down again,great play again and their keeper made another mistake and Dean Gourchenok got the second,after that we dominated play and could have had a couple more,the Oxley keeper pulled off a couple of good saves and then the final whistle was blown,we were beaten three times this season,twice from Colleges who we knocked out in the semi finals and who won the league,and once from Oxley who finished runners up,i have had great pride in coaching this team this season and would like to thank every one of them for what turned out a brilliant season,third place finish and i saw something in this team and knew we could make the Grand Final,well done boys hope to see you next season,aso a big thanks to Ken Applebee for assisting with the boys this season.
