open ladies div. 3

at last some information about a mixed bag of talent that my son ben yeuell (coach) and myself (asst. coach) inhereted from caroline who sadly had to give it away (serious ankle inj.)
Now back to the mixed bag, ages ranging from 14 - 42, a squad of 13 of which 6 had never played before and lucky to see 6 or 7 at training. We now have 19 signed on and average 12 on training nights best attendance 16.
We know were playing above our level and were getting hammered. Ben has worked very hard getting back to basics and instilling a self belief and a system that suits them, 2 wins. 2 losses and a draw. 2 cup wins sees Western Spirits name appear in the qtr. final draw probably for the first time, our opponent will be park ridge also of div. 3 on wed 25 june venue not yet known.
This weeks fixture sees us take on Souths Utd. at Kippen Park Sunday at 3 p.m.
A big thanks must go to the u16 girls who have helped us out when numbers were down.
