ladies div 3 cup campaign
A game to be remembered for some time for the good crowd that had come to support the ladies in their endeavour to reach the semi final, and that is just what they did in the most dramatic fashion.
The first was very even with few chances being created until Park Ridge found some space on their right and crossed a splendid ball onto the head of an attacking forward, a great headed goal.
A good half time chat and the girls were up for it completely dominating the second half creating chance after chance and finally rewarded with a Tammy free kick from 25m sailing over the keepers head. Park Ridge somehow hung on till the final whistle.
THE DREADED PENALTY SHOOTOUT.
At the end of the 5 penalties it was 2-2, now sudden death you could hear a pin drop. Ridge went first and missed, Spirit shot saved, Ridge shot saved by Amber playing only her second game in goal in her life, this next penalty for an apperance in the semi -finals and who better than the most experienced player Sharron New who placed the ball and duly despached it with ease.
Many heroes on a night like this none more so than Amber Burke just 15 and playing her first ever season, making 3 penalty saves. Well done to all involved especially the U16s that played a major role in our succes.
