Centenary had given stiff opposition to all the front runners so it was going to be an interesting test to see how the boys took them on. In the first half the boys had Lions pinned in their own half and struggling to survive. We just needed to improve the final pass to get a break through goal. After pushing for most of the first half and having at least 3 shots brilliantly saved by the Taringa keeper. There was some interest as to whether the loss last week, a key player suddenly leaving and a couple of players not 100% healthy would knock the wind from the team's sails but to their credit they not only beat taragindi but did better than the last time they played them during the Grading rounds where we won 3-1. The last game between us ended in nil all and until the last 10 mins from the end it remain that way in this game. They started off in fine fashion moving the ball well and attacking goal. Towards the end of the half we sat back and let the knights get back into it. The knights were unlucky to get a goal from a cracking shot from outside of the box which hit the upright. It was a strange game as it took a while for the team to get around the unusual tactics employed by the Tigers and the score could have been a lot higher had the balls that hit the wood work gone in.
